Klapp Creative — LA / NY

Klapp Creative produces singular, collectible furniture — each object a one-off where stainless steel meets hand-laid white oak inlay. The brief was deceptively simple: a UI restrained enough to disappear, yet considered enough to telegraph the exclusivity of the work itself. Nothing competes with the object.

Built in Next.js, the portfolio centres on a curved carousel that holds each piece in a gentle perspective arc — images bowed as if pinned to the inside of a cylinder, drifting on a fine-ruled position scale below. The interaction model is reduced to a single gesture with two outcomes: hovering the active image reveals open image, hovering its neighbour reveals next image. One click advances the slider; one click on the centred piece opens it into a full detail view, where the carousel image travels into place rather than cutting — the object carried forward, never reloaded.

Inside the detail view, a split frame pairs two angles of the same piece against generous white space, with the title set large and quiet to the right, a one-line material note, and a single more info affordance. Close returns you to the arc. The entire system runs on motion as continuity: every transition is a movement of the same object through space, reinforcing the sense that you're handling a physical thing rather than browsing a catalogue.

The result is a portfolio that reads as a private viewing — minimal chrome, deliberate pacing, and an exclusivity that's demonstrated through restraint rather than declared.
